History
Although Touch had been played in the Auckland area some years prior, the Auckland Touch Association (ATA) was formed in 1983 and operates as a non-profit organisation. ATA is a registered incorporated society that has boundaries which encompass the same general areas as the Auckland City and Waitakere City Councils. The organisation's inception formed the structure to facilitate the growth of the sport in the region.
ATA is one of 16 Provincial Associations which are governed by Touch New Zealand. As such, ATA embrace the AWHI promise and carry those principals through the organisation and the community.
ATA is an organisation that have a very proud history within the New Zealand Touch Community. We have produced many New Zealand representatives encompassing all aspects of the game from Coaches and Players through to Managers and Referees.
